Ring Ring

Good Wednesday morning to you. It's a lovely rainy morning and the baby is sleeping in. I figured I should take this opportunity to share a card using the new Ring Me set. The Die-namics in this set are too stinkin' cute. :)

I used one of those coasters to cut the phone out and inked all the edges to distress. It's layered on a cork square to keep a masculine feel. The Vertical Greetings Die-namics was a perfect fit for the long sentiment. I made the cord using a double layer of wound twine. The set includes some cute little sentiments and I used the Mini Pennants Banner Die-namics to make the phone ring.

I'm going to venture out into the rain in an hour, so I shall go waterproof. :) See you soon.

Bee Mine

It's getting close to Valentine's Day. I'm planning heart shaped cinnamon rolls and heart shaped pizzas for Tuesday. I figure the baby would eventually get into this kind of thing, but for now, I enjoy doing it for her. :)

I'm back this week with another sample for Sketch For You To Try. In my first sample, I forgot the circles on the long skinny panel--no this time!

I have some new My Mind's Eye paper, but I decided to dig into some of my stash. I also stitched my buttons on with silver thread for a little bling. Check Jen's blog for half of the Sisters who are posting today! :)

February New Product Tour

I get to share a super special stamp set with you, Pure Innocence: Blowing Bubbles. It's special to me because it was one of my concepts! As one of the designers, I have the opportunity to submit ideas we would like to see in stamp form. I was playing with my toddler and showing her bubbles and thought about how cute it would be to see a little PI girl doing the same. That's just a little "behind the scenes" info on this set. :)

I colored the image with Copics and paper pieced her outfit. All patterned paper is My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline. I used the new Botanical Beauty Die-namics to add the flower embellishment to my card. This die set is quickly becoming one of my favorite flower Die-namics. It's substantially larger than the others and I love the spiny insides. I used the smallest flower with white felt layered with the largest spiny piece here.

It's Pure Innocence teaser day--are you ready for some cuties? Firefighter Boy is one of the new "service people" Pure Innocence images. I thought he'd be cute watercolored (get it? firefighters use water?) with a bright red color. I use Twinkling H2Os when I water color.

I used some of the bravest paper I have by October Afternoon. You see that red and blue twine? A gift from KJ herself. :) Thanks, girlie!

Yesterday I talked about how the Vertical Greetings Die-namics was going to get a good workout at my house? I showed you how to use with a sentiment vertically and here it is with a sentiment horizontally. I also used the new Monarch Border Die-namics with white felt.

Welcome to a la mode teaser day. We've got two new cuties to show off, so let's get to it.

I chose to work with a la modes Girl Talk. Remember how we just talked about how great our iPhones are? Yea, this was a slam dunk choice for me.

I used the new Vertical Greetings Die-namics for my sentiment and folded over the houndstooth panel. I love how versatile that die is. I also cataloged (put my new dies in their storage basket) my Die-namics for this release (I do it around release time to stay organized) and put this on in the "frames" category. It's going to get lots of use!

The black polka dot panel is washi tape (love that stuff) and I added a pink felt flower using the Pretty Posies Die-namics. I used some new pearly Smooches on the iPhone. Here's a detail shot:

Celebrate with YNS

It's the first Saturday and you know that means it's time for a *new* Sketch For You To Try {SFYTT}. We have a new sponsor too, Your Next Stamp. I love how the circle is tucked under the side panel. I used the Seasonal Icon Set One for my card. There's four darling images and I started with the trusty cupcake.

I have a confession. My printer honestly didn't print the three "circles" on my sketch this month. I now see them and I promise to rectify that on my upcoming samples. :)

The paper is by My Mind's Eye. Since I didn't follow the sketch exactly, I did use some lace tape on that panel. I stitched a button to a heart {cut with the Homespun Die-namics} through all the layers, except the card base. I did a double layer of stickles on the heart:

We have a really fun new set to show off today (actually there are two, but I'll focus on the other soon) called Vertical Greetings. Aside from that, I made a discovery that was quite exciting.

I started the process with one of these cute library pockets. I found them at my local teacher-y store and they're cute tag holders. Wouldn't this be a fun graduation card? I added a little patterned paper and distressed the edges of the pocket. I decorated the tag to coordinate with the pocket as well.

The discovery? Have a look at this close up. You can heat emboss on cork paper. You may have already known that, but I felt like a scientist in a lab experimenting with this process. I thought for sure the cork would warp or the embossing powder would get in the crevices. Nope, it worked like a charm!

The rest of the card was embellished with flourishy bling, twill, ribbon, and a button.

Puppies as Pets

How are you liking this release? I'm totally thrilled with this month's Triple Scoop Set, Clearly Sentimental About Pets. If you've been following here long, you know I've got two fur babies who occupy our home. The real baby has grown to love them more than I could have ever imagined.

I chose this sentiment to make my card, know it would be perfect when someone gets to welcome a new member to their family. The set has other fabulous pet friendly phrases, too!

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and adhered it to the brown patterned paper. Then, I used the *new* Vertical Greetings Die-naimc {horizontally, haha} to cut it all out.

As thrilled as I am about the stamp set, I'm equally as thrilled about the coordinating Die-naimcs, Pet Charms. I used the darling puppy paw charm with blue felt to add a little embellishment on my bow.

The Sky's the Limit

We have a new addition to our Die-namics collection that coordinates with a super popular Inspired By set, Up, Up, and Away. When I went to CHA last year, it was sold out before I even got to the booth! The Up, Up, and Away Die-namics work perfectly for those gorgeous balloons.

I was in a CAS {clean and simple} mood the other day. Apparently that also translated into soft, mellow colors. I used the Flat-Bottomed Clouds Die-namics (my favorite clouds) to cut a layer into the back panel. I popped that panel up to give the clouds some depth. Here's a close up:

Since Phones Had Cords

Welcome to Day #1 of MFTeasers. This release is so packed full of creative stamps and Die-namics, you'll want to check in each day.

Let's get right to it! I used the new Who's That Girl, Let's Chat. Isn't she darling? I usually have my iPhone attached to my person all day long. Aside from the basic phone function, it's my calendar (if it's not on that calendar, it's unlikely to happen), my social connection, and my camera. It's so easy to snap a photo of the kidlet without dragging out the big one. Can anyone relate? All that to say, I had to ink her up.

I've been without a landline since my early college years, so I got a good kick out of this sentiment. Do you see that darling little bubble it's stamped on?!? That's one of the Chat Bubbles Die-namics. It's so fun!

Behind the main panels, I layered (in order from bottom to top) blue felt cut with Simply Scallops Die-namics, grey felt cut with the new Monarch Border Die-namic, twill, and a double layer of twine. The Monarch Border looks fabulous with that scallop under it--try it sometime!

At the Movies

I'm preparing for MFTeasers to start late this evening and while I was perusing through my files, I found a little At the Movies card I hadn't posted yet! This stamp and Die-anmics set is the latest in the "large" set line up. It full of sentiments and accessory images. I really enjoy these large sets because the Die-namics coordinate with the stamps and there's so much to choose from.

I went for a CAS look and wanted to keep it red, black, and white. That way, it will work for a man card. :)

I used Lily Bee patterned papers in the background and just a little bit of stitching. Each of the embellishments were easily stamped and cut with this set.

I Heart Snow Days

I'm sneaking in with my last Sketch For You To Try card for the month of January. The first Saturday of February will bring a new fabulous sketch.

Of course, our January sponsor is The Cat's Pajamas. I inked up Snow Day and it makes me just a *little* sad we haven't seen much snow this winter. Just a little though, today we enjoyed the sunny 70 degrees.

In an unusual and unplanned turn of events, I shopped an Archiver's. It's not too often I'm in the vicinity of one and it's certainly not often I just stumble upon one. While there, I found these glittery heart brads that were just too cute. I also added a little stickles amongst the snow balls:

Flower Silhouette

My Favorite Things is sponsoring the sketch at Card Patterns this week. The diamond panel in the middle was a perfect jumpstart for this card.

I used the Flower Silhouette Stamp Set and Die-namics for the sweet flowers and More Essential Sentiments for the sentiment. I use this sentiment set all the time. I love the big size of the font and it mixes so well with many other sets. The Solid Bracket Border Die-namics worked perfectly for the zig zag edge of the sketch.

I tied the back panel up with a twill bow and I tied the flowers together with a bit of twine:

The paper is the Summer's End collection by Fancy Pants. I inked the edges of the flowers to give them a big of dimension, as well as most of the pattern paper edges.

I Heart You

It's not too early to get a jump start on Valentine's day cards. I made a clean and simple card that would be easy to multiply. The big bow makes it a good "hand deliver" card as well. :)

I've gotten a lot of use out of this Love Story paper collection from Fancy Pants. The colors are bright and it's mixed with a number of black and white prints too.

I used a sentiment from the Say What? stamp set and the Open Scallop Doily Die-namics for the main panel.

MFT and Scor-Pal

Welcome to a special demo day! My Favorite Things and Scor-Pal have teamed up and there's lots of inspiration out there. Head on over to the MFT blog to hear about and see all the participants.

I used my Scor-Pal to make a custom pocket for my Tag You're It Dienamic. The Textile Rectangle Dienamic was perfect to create a fancy cut on the front of the pocket. After I made the pocket, I used the Simply Scallops Medium Dienamic and the Time for Tea Dienamics and stamp set to finish off the card.

Here's what the tag looks like:

Here's a detail shot of the fancy pocket front. Remember to use your Dienamics in unusual ways--you'll get a lot more milage out of your investment.

I also made a little tutorial so you could see exactly how I made the pocket.

Post Christmas Sketch

The weekly sketch started yesterday over in the MFT forum. I love this idea from Pinterest and knew it would be great to start for our family. It'll preserve all the cute family pictures and we can see how the kids grow up by comparing old photos. It also helps me remember who and where to send cards next year!

I used my cropodile to punch a hole in all of the Christmas cards we received and put a binder ring to bind them together. I only did one corner, but you could do two like the above pin. I embellished it with the Wonky Scallop Border Dienamic, the Perfect Petal Trio, and the By the Numbers Dienamics. I used the Clearly Sentimental about Christmas set, too.

VIP New Product Tour

It's time for another VIP New Product Tour. You'll be pleased to see that this month's kit has two Pure Innocence images, plus an exclusive mini set, and the Monarch Border Dienamic. Did you snag the Jumbo Monarch Border Dienamic last month? This one is the next in the line up--a smaller dimension of the same pattern--and just as fabulous!

I've been in a rut with Copics and/or paper piecing these darling images lately, so it was time to bring out the watercolors. I use Twinkling H2Os because I parted with my SU inks a year or two ago. I also love the bit of twinkle you get when you use these. One of my card customers (read: friend who likes to send my cards) asked how I got the sparkle in there. ;)

I stamped the bubbles a little off the panel and filled them with clear glaze. I also wanted to take the "bubble" or circle theme throughout, so I created a little circle embellishment and I used some polka dot ribbon.

I used white felt and the Monarch Border Dienamic for a little embellishment on the circle. The buttons are stitched directly to the card base.

Tweet Birthday

Happy Tuesday. We {the baby and I} have a flurry of activities today, but I had to share this card with you before we officially get started.

One of my stamping goals this year is to do some more challenges. I found this sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers and used it as a starting point. It was a starting point because I switched the circles at the bottom to leaves.

I used the Homespun Birdhouse Dienamics and stamp set for this card. The bird and leaves were cut with MFT's felt. I used a speckled cardstock and inked all the edges of the birdhouse for a distressed look. I also used a carmel color scrap to cover the back of the birdhouse "hole" to set it apart.

I used some lacquer for the birds eye and sprinkled some buttons around. Sprinkling buttons can be a dangerous game, so I tested them out before sewing them down.

SFYTT, Take Two

As part of the *new* Sketch For You To Try for 2012 is the schedule. The whole team will post the first Saturday, half the next, the other half the next, and then we'll all post some time during the last five days of the month! That'll give you LOTS of inspiration to get a sample done--and get yourself entered for the big prize at the end of the year. :)

The Cat's Pajamas is this month's sponsor. This is one of my favorite TCP sets, Tutu Much. Oh, these bunnies are sweet.

I use some masking tape (a technique called masking, that I don't do very often...) to get the wood grain pattern under the bunnies. The bunny ballerina teacher was cut out and popped up on the main panel. If you're checking the sketch, you'll notice I made my circle quite a bit bigger than the sketch, but this scene was so worth it!

Wednesday Stamp Club

It's time for a new sketch for Wednesday Stamp Club. All the details can be found here in the MFT forum.

My starting point for this card was this new fun paper called Love Story by Fancy Pants. Those little envelopes on the small panel were too stinkin' cute. I used the sweet Pure Innocence Making a List.

I used the Mini Pennants for the sentiment--look at me following a sketch! I don't believe I adapted this one like I usually do. :) I tied it up with a black saddle stitch bow.

Here's a detail shot of my coloring. I colored the image with Copics, but it has a watercolor effect. I didn't blend the colors as much as I usually do and I like the effect. See her knees? If you put a little more of your shade color around the knee, you'll create a little dimension.

You've Got Mail

I don't usually blog during the evenings, but I wanted to squeak into the Mojo Monday sketch this week. In trying to work ahead, I got behind--go figure! You can find the Mojo sketches here.

I had this sweet little Pure Innocence Happy Mail on my desk for a few weeks. I love how her blonde hair turned out. I used Y0000, Y21, and YR28. I'll have to remember that one. :)

I used one of the Open Scallop Doily Due Dienamics for the circle portion. PI's dress is so easy to paper piece, that I try to remember to use that technique once in a while. I used a scrap of Lily Bee paper for her dress and the rest of the patterned paper is by October Afternoon.

I used a little scrap of ribbon and stitched a button right through the ribbon to the bottom layer (not the card base) of cardstock. Am I the only one who wants a little heart on her mailbox? Too bad mine is brick...

Here's a close up of the button and ribbon tag. You can also see some of the shading in her hair in this close up. It's like the sun is shining right on her!

Brand New SFYTT

It's two thousand and twelve and we have a brand new Sketch For You To Try! Not only that, we have a fabby new sponsor this month:

That's right, the swanky stamp company is sponsoring us. I am quite thrilled by this notion because I really do love their stamps and Cut Ups. I got to use my Rolled Nest Cut Up with one of their lovely bird sets. I stamped the "NEST" portion of the sentiment and wrote the rest.

MFTeasers: Pure Innocence

Welcome to the last day of teasers. We'll have the Dienamics Pep Rally tomorrow and then the release party tomorrow evening! Today you'll see all of the new Pure Innocence images being released--boy, are there some cute ones.

I started with the Berry Sweet set. Her dress just made me squeal with that strawberry neck top. Besides that, I knew with a little polka dot paper, her dress would be too cute!

Using the new Love Me My Mind's Eye papers, I made a layered background and paper pieced her dress. The Dog Tag Dienamic worked perfectly for the sentiment and the little heart from the Notched Tag Dienamic set added the perfect detail. I covered the heart with pink stickles, too. There's a Little Open Scallop Border at the top of my card and a Oval Decorative Doily behind the main image.

She is the perfect reminder of what summer feels like as it starts to get cold. :)

MFTeasers: a la modes

Today's a la mode, Dip Me In Chocolate, is super special to me. This is one of my first concepts that made it's way into stamp form. I just *love* how she turned out! The chocolate bar? The long hair? The leggings? Yes! I'm so excited about this--can you tell?!?

I stamped the image on cardstock and colored her with Copics. The candy bar wrapper is paper pieced and the sentiment is stamped on the File Tab Dienamic. In case you haven't seen, there are four tabs dienamics available and this is just one of them! They're all great and quite affordable. I also used the Jumbo Monarch Border which is new this month!

I hope you love her as much as I do! I'm off to find some Hershey goodness after looking at this detail shot!

MFTeasers: Monogram Alphabet

I took a little blog break yesterday, but I'm ready to start today's teasers with two cards.

First up I used the Monogram Alphabet with the new Layered Heart Dienamics. I'm in love with these huge hearts--tons of possibilities. My crafty heart can thing of lots of other craft projects I can do with these--simply because they are so large. Love them!

After I cut the large Layered Heart {there's two of them, one is smaller with holes around the border}, and stamped the "i" and the "u," I sewed it to my card base. If I had to do it over, I'd use patterned paper because the cardstock was a little too thick. Or, I could weaken the cardstock before I sewed it on. I stopped sewing about 1.5" before it would be finished and stuffed it with polyester filling. It's the same stuff you'd stuff a stuffed animal with. Once it got to a reasonable thickness, I finished the sewing of the heart.

I used the heart from the Homespun Birdhouse Dienamic set ALL THE TIME. I keep it on my desk, not in it's pocket where it belongs. It's seriously a perfect size. Remember, you can purchase the dienamic set with or without the stamp set. Since it was readily available on my desk, I popped the heart right in the middle of the big heart. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye and I tied it off with 3/8" twill.

When I first saw the Monogram Alphabet set, I immediately thought of teacher gifts. My little one is too young for teacher gifts, but she has a sitter who is a teacher. Once, she took me in the local "teacher store" and I found a couple of thing to incorporate into a card--always have that crafty brain on! The lined paper strip is from a pack of long cards that are lined for kids to practice their letters. Once I stamped it, folded it around a piece of cardstock, and stitched the bottom, it was an instant pocket. Neat, huh?!?

I used black felt with the Stacking Stars Dienamic and the Simply Scallops Dienamic. The sentiment is from the a la mode You Rule.

MFTeasers: Bunch of Hearts Flopsey

Welcome to the second day of MFTeasers. We have a darling new addition to the Flopsey line, Bunch of Hearts Flopsey. He's perfect for all of your Valentine's Day crafty needs! I just love all the hearts he's balancing in his hands {paws?!?}! This little guy is one of the first images that made me a HUGE fan of My Favorite Things.

To start, I stamped the image on smooth cardstock with Memento ink. Originally, I had planned to color him with Copics, but realized I hadn't watercolored in a long time. Usually, I use watercolor paper, but I thought it'd be neat to see what happened on good ole cardstock. I remember from my SU days that you can't use a lot of water without the cardstock pilling, so keep that in mind if you try this. I used thin layers of water with Twinkling H2Os. I used two brown hues to make his body color and some deeper shading.

The scene was begging for some Flat Bottomed Clouds. I couldn't disagree, so I used some white felt and colored a big with BG11 to make them stand out from the neutral cardstock.

I also used the Mini Tab Foursome for my sentiment placement. This set has darling little hearts in a few sizes so I picked the smallest one to accent my sentiment. Cute! I also wanted to point out one of my latest additions to the twine family. It's pink and red!

MFTeasers: Who's That Girl

Welcome to the first day of MFT teasers! It's another wonderful release to bring in the new year.

Before I get started I made a little gender announcement here and if you haven't entered the giveaway, go here.

When this little Who's That Parisian Girl showed up in my mailbox, I was giddy! She's totally darling and I totally pretend that I'm her. While I wasn't wearing a skirt, I was her about ten years ago. I had a big nutella crepe in my hand instead of a clutch. :)

I stamped the image on XPress Copic cardstock and colored her with Copics. I drew a line to create a sidewalk with a Copic multiliner. Tthe gray Eiffel Tower is part of this great new set.

The larger Eiffel Tower on of the newest additions to the Dienamics collection, Eiffel Tower Dienamic. I cut it out of grey cardstock and covered it with crystal effects. Here's a detail shot:

It's time for the MFT Creative Chat. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum. This month, we were asked the following questions:

You can see my videos from previous chats here (Dienamics storage), here (cardstock and cardstock scrap storage), here (patterned paper storage), and here (desk layout). The desk layout video will be most helpful in seeing where these drawers are in relation to everything else.

If you've watched all my videos, you'll notice a trend. I like to have most everything within arms reach. My embellishments also need to be within arms reach, so I have three sets of drawers (one is stacked on another, on the right) to the right of my chair. The set on the left stores adhesive and ink refills, nesties, and large stamp sets.

The one on the right holds all of my embellishments or materials to make embellishments. Since the introduction of Dienamics, I don't have a need for as many embellishments as I used to. In particular, my flower collection is a lot smaller. I have a few of my favorites in the top drawer, just in case. In the other two drawers I store bling, glitter, washi tape, pre fab tags, pearls, and brads. My favorite embellishments are buttons and those are stored right on my desktop in glass jars.

Right below these drawers are larger drawers that hold felt, cork, denim, canvas and linen. I use these to make embellishments.

My Last Merry Christmas

Before I accept that Christmas is officially over, I have one last card to share. This was a special order from a friend who requested an 8x8" card. The request was from my friend's husband who said he "needed a lot of room to write." I took the opportunity to do something a little different with a larger canvas.

I used my By the Letters Dienamics with grey felt for the main sentiment. I needed something that really popped so I used the Large Rolled Rose and the Rolled Rose Dienamics with red felt. I added some ribbon "leaves" with a button, a flourish bling, and a leafy flourish. The patterned paper is from October Afternoon (from an 8x8" pack ;) ).

I also have to say that we found out that our baby is a BOY. If you haven't entered the giveaway, go here to find out how!

Merry Christmas

It's just a matter of days! I'm a little impatient when it comes to opening presents, but DH, on the other hand, insists we wait until Christmas until opening presents. Ordinarily this wouldn't be a big deal, but this is the first year we're exchanging gifts in a few years.

I had a request for a few Christmas cards and I couldn't not use the Sending You a Little Christmas PI. In reality, the request was for a card with this darling little girl! I grabbed the sentiment from Inspired By Christmas for a sweet addition. I colored the image with Copics and topped the tree with a some Liquid Pearls.

I used MFT's blue felt with the Let It Snowflake Dienamic.

VIP New Product Tour

You are in for a big time treat for this month's VIP kit. You're going to love the new Pure Innocence girls being released, Jump for Joy and Plane Amazing.

When I was a kid, we spent hours jump roping at recess. This particular stamp has a special place in my heart for that reason. We tied one end of the jump rope to the fence so only one friend had to twirl. Anyone else have that memory?

I have a confession. I keep the heart from the Homespun Birdhouse Dienamic set front and center on my desk. I don't file it away with the birdhouse because I use it ALL. THE. TIME. Do you have it yet? Check it out--the size is just perfect for a little embellishment.

I used the Simply Scallops Dienamic in the background. I tied some of my *new* and delish red/pink twine around it. Her dress is paper pieced and all the paper is from the Love Me collection from My Minds Eye.

I should mention that I while I was choosing which PI to use for tonight, I found myself in a little dilemma. I also took flying lessons when I was a teenager. Then I remember being up in the air in that tin can and it scared my pants off. Dilemma solved. LOL.

Special Day Giveaway

Today is a special day at our house. In just a few hours we get to find out if this baby is a boy or girl. In light of this, I think it's a good time for a little giveaway. See below for details!

I got a chance to play along in a little Splitcoast challenge this week. The sketch was posted last month, but I loved that missing circle. It certainly gave me a jump start dreaming a Fringed Perennial nestled in that hole!

The sketch is SC360. I used Crate patterned paper. The scallop on the edge is a beautiful herringbone pattern. I used the Simply Scallops Medium. The sentiment is from More Essential Sentiments, which is one I use often. I'm working on a button video and hope to have it done soon.

Now for the giveaway.

Once I find out if our baby is a boy or a girl, I'm going to put a prize package together. It's either going to have a boy theme (think boy PIs and star dienamics) or a girl theme (think a la modes or girly PIs and flower dienamics). It will definitely be worth winning--I won't skimp! :) I will announce the prize package later this week and a winner January 3.

Sketchy How To

Did you see last week's submissions for the sketch? They were fantastic! I'm excited to see what everyone will do with this week's--it's so versatile. Check Kim's blog this morning to see who's participating.

I switched the Layered Label element of the sketch with the Tag You're It Dienamic. There's a little tutorial below if you {like me} might not have the foresight to cut then stamp.

I used Lily Bee patterned papers for the base and to paper piece her dress. I created an "ice streak" with a Copic multiliner pen and a little bit of stickles. I like that little "extra" detail:

I split the sentiment to fall on either side of our sweet little Pure Innocence image. When I do something like that, I usually just ink half the sentiment, stamp on scrap paper until clean, then ink the other half. Every now and then I'll actually cut the sentiment stamp to accomplish my goal.

The Let It Snowflake Dienamic has been very useful this winter! I tucked the larger two behind tag and added a little bling to the smallest right on front.

I have a little secret as to how I tie a double twine bow. I'll be sharing that with you soon!

Before I go, I wanted to show you an easy way to cut your image out with dienamics if you have already stamped the image. Sometimes I stamp a lot of images to color in my free time and don't know how I'm going to cut them out until later. That means, I have to have a little trick so I don't cut right through a colored image--gasp!

You need your image, your dienamic, and a pencil. I hadn't paper pieced her dress yet, but I have done that before and it doesn't mess it up when you run it through your die cut machine.

Next, estimate where you think you'll want you're dienamic.

In the case of this Tag You're It Dienamic, I used my pencil to trace around the corners and the bottom. You don't want to over trace in case you need to erase then start over. The reason I traced the bottom was to make sure she was "grounded" evenly. I wouldn't want her to end up on a slope or a little off center.

Once you have your pencil lines where you want them, line them up in your machine. I've used the Cuttlebug here. Sandwhich (from bottom to top): A plate, C plate, paper, dienamic (aligned with trace lines with blade down), B plate.

Run it through your machine. You'll notice that the traced lines are still visible on your left over piece of paper.

Creative Challenge

Welcome to MFT Design Team Creative Challenge. This month, we created projects with the It's a Wrap theme. I have two samples to show you today. If you've been around here long, you know I love to incorporate tags on my cards, but I also like dressing up gifts with tags, too.

First, I used the Well Worn Greetings Dienamics set. It was so easy to cut out all the pieces and stamp the top layer. The red dot border is from the Christmas Ornament set and the sentiment is from Clearly Sentimental about Christmas. This set has had a good workout from me this holiday season! I love the size and the font of this sentiment. It's a bit larger and I find myself reaching for it quite a bit.

I ordered a few little kraft polka dot bags of Etsy {source here} and had wrapped up this little gift. The recipient wanted to keep the wrapping after she had dug into it! I call that a success!

Second, I made a free hanging tag to hang from a gift bag handle. I had this image colored on a larger piece of cardstock and then I cut it with my Tag You're It Dienamic. I know that's not the ideal way to cut it, but I figured out a little trick I'll be sharing later this week. :) I lined the tag on a piece of grey felt and simply cut a 1/4" border around the tag.

Using the Textile Rectangle Dienamic, I created a little tab for my sentiment. There's a woven scarf tucked inside, so I couldn't use any of the darling knit sentiments in the a la modes Knit Happens set.

I tied a white twill bow to the handle of the gift bag and attached the tag. After it was tied, I thread some twine under the bow to attach a big red button. It needed a pop of red with all those dark neutrals.

Happy Monday and Baby Update

Happy Monday stampy friends! Did you have a good weekend? We went on a Christmas trip {I surprised my little family} to the Christmas Train. If you're localish, I totally recommend this place! I know people who've lived here for years and never heard of it--which is a cryin' shame. There's stuff for little kids to do like ride ponies, a carousel, and a little train. There are wagon or stage coach rides and mercantile shops. Thenn, you get on a big train to hear the Christmas story. All the employees are dressed in old timey garb and so friendly. Most of it is outside and it was quite cold out, but we stayed bundled up and it was great!

Anyway, I have a little card for you today. I used Clearly Sentimental about Abundance for the sentiment on a Clearly Sentimental Label Dienamic. I love how versatile this particular dienamic has been in my collectin. I layered it on a Oval Dainty Doily Dienamic cut out of coordinating patterned paper.

On the very bottom of the main panel, I stitched a white felt piece cut with {one of my go to dienamics} Simply Scallops Deinamic. I also stitched the buttons directly to my paper--something I highly recommend!

I also wanted to give you a quick baby update, too. Thank you so much for ALL the sweet congratulations on my announcement post. I'm well out of my first trimester {thank goodness!!!} and all of my appointments have gone well. We have our ultrasound to determine gender on the 20th--right before Christmas! I will be sure to let you know if it's a girl or a boy.

It's time for another Weekly Sketch Challenge. I really like this sketch! There's a few panels and it worked perfectly with my sweet little PI image.

This is Presents For You. She's colored with Copics and her coat is paper pieced. I used the heart from the Homespun Birdhouse collection and the Oval Tab Dienamic for my sentiment.

The paper is from My Mind's Eye. I love this paper so much I bought two 6x6 pads and just got to cut into 'em!

MFTeasers: Pure Innocence

Welcome to the Pure Innocence Teaser Day! I know this is one of the most anticipated days and I know you'll love what we have in store for you this month.

Last month, we released Holiday Hugs Snowman, and we have another snowy guy, Frosty and Fabulous. His scarf is so fringy and fun!

I used the Mix & Match Banners Dienamic for a frosty little embellishment, too. These are great for sentiment placement, but also for snowflake {or other shapes} placement. I added the middle sized snowflake from the Let it Snowflake Dienamic and attached it with a button to make it a little tag. I used a Scor Bug with my Scor Pal for the dotted lines on the card base. This was another foray into the clean and simple style.

We're another day closer to MFT release day! I have quite a bit of affection for today's a la mode. She's Hot Chocolate Cutie and she's got a big mug of warm chocolate to keep you warm! Aside from the skinny legs, I think we could have a lot in common this winter. It's one of my favorite treats!

MFTeasers: Time for Tea

This is going to be a sweet teaser day for you! There is a darling set being released that I know many of you will love. It's called Time for Tea and it has it's own coordinating Dienamics. :)

I especially have a fondness for tea and tea related things because it makes it so easy to whip up a little card for my mom. She and my dad regularly have afternoon tea and she dreams of one day having high tea in London.

I used the Tag You're It tag and cut out a piece of linen. I stitched the tea bag string and added on the little tag, cup, and saucer. I also had to use my new By the Letters Dienamics on the tag. Loving those!

MFTeasers: Pearls of Wisdom

I know there's a number of you out there who love the clean and simple {CAS} look. Typically, it's a look I love, but have trouble pulling off. I created the main focal piece (the oval) for this card and really wanted it to stand out. When I snagged this little scrap of polka dot paper, it screamed CAS.

I started with the new Open Scallop Oval Doily and laced up the little holes with thick embroidery thread. I used the Layered Label Dienamic set for the sentiment and attached buttons to either side. Using the new Fringed Perennial Dienamic and one big button, I created the flower embellishment on the front. The patterned paper is from October Afternoon.

Welcome to the second day of MFT teasers. I stood back for the first day, but I'm more than thrilled to be with you today. There are some intensely fabulous Dienamics that you are going to love. I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw them!

First, I have a little card using Fred Bear Gives Comfort. He's all ready to supply the essentials to make you {or me!} feel better. After being sick for a number of weeks, he'd be a welcome sight around here.

Do you see it? Do you see the letters? Yup, I cut them with my awesome new By the Letters Dienamics! Here, I've paired them with the first half of the sentiment and let the big letters finish of the sentiment. Love how that works!

But wait! The letters coordinate perfectly with the Mix and Match Banner Dienamics which help create stunning focal points for your cards. I used the new set Inspired By Flowers (set 4) to create the background paper then I spritzed {drenched} it with glimmer mist. It's so shiny and sparkly in real life.

I also used the new Open Scallop Oval Doily Dienamic in the background. The patterned papers are from My Minds Eye.

Howdy stampers. I have drawn the winners of my giveaway and have let them know they won. I've heard back from one of them, but not the second! I'll be sure to re-draw if I don't hear from the second winner.

I have my second installment of this month's SFYTT with some of my favorite Verve goodies. I *just* got an email from Julee saying I have a new order on the way! Love getting new stamps. :)

I used the Loopy Blooms die with blue felt and the Rounded Scallop Frame. I used the Making a Statement stamp set for the sentiment and October Afternoon Sidewalk patterned paper.

Merry Christmas Sketch

I've missed a number of sketches lately, but I'm back in the game today. All of the details are in the MFT forum.

I used Clearly Sentimental about Christmas {Triple Scoop} and a number of Dienamics: Oval Scallop Doily Duo, Tag You're It, and Vintage Cameo. You can now buy a number of the Dienamics without the coordinating stamp set. You know, if you need to double up on a few. ;)

I'm gearing up for the big Thanksgiving Day. I'm going to do a bunch of cooking/baking today. Wish me luck! :)

Felt Christmas Ornament Tutorial

Winter Cuties VIP New Product Tour

We have a little something up our sleeve for this month's VIP kit. Maybe an early Christmas present? Instead of featuring a Who's That Girl {like the VIP kit always has}, we're featuring two--mmmhummm, two--Pure Innocence girls.

First up is Pure Innocence Holly Girl. I've stamped her on xpress cardstock and paper pieced her little jumper. I used the Open Scallop Doily Dienamic in the background and it's also *in* the VIP kit. Woot.

Also included it Pure Innocence Ice Princess. She's so dainty and has super cute sentiments to boot. I used the Simply Scallops Dienamic with black felt, the Pretty Posies Dienamic, and the Snowflakes Trio Dienamic.

Hi stampy friends. I have not been up to creating or posting recently, so I took a little {errrr, week?!? so far...} break. I have an awfully good excuse!

Aside from a bit of traveling and the little bug that all of us caught, I've been just a little nauseous lately. I should start feeling better since I'm in my second trimester, now. Let's all hope--I'm missing my craft room!

We took this opportunity to take some family photos, too. My friend Suzanne is fabulous photographer and snapped some great ones! My toddler's hair is just now starting to fill out and oh so wild.

In light of this exciting announcement and because I don't have anything crafty to show you, I'm going to SHARE something crafty with you! As you know, My Favorite Things is my favorite stamp company, so I collected a few of my favorite things from the store. They're currently being manhandled by the aforementioned toddler, but I assure you, they'll be in good working order!

I'm going to split the loot into two packages. On November 23, I'll draw a random winner from my followers and a random winner from the commenters on this post! November New Product Tour

Welcome to November's New Product Tour! I'm super excited to show you my favorite {out of lots of favorites ;) } sets, Knit Happens. I happen to be a closet knitter {I go in spurts} and I just loved the detail of this image.

Detail? What detail? Have a look at her fingerless gloves {or as I like to call them, iPhone gloves!}:

These are super popular lately because of our smart phone friends. They keep your hand warm, but you can still use your phone {but not while texting and driving, right?!?! No, not me!} with ease! I stamped the image on xpress cardstock and colored her with Copics. I used the Small Scallop Border Dienamic and grey felt for a little detail under the main panel.

I knit up a little pair to give as a little gift. They knit up fast, too! See:

MFT Dienamics Feature

Tonight, I wanted to show off one of new dienamics in a different way. I used the new Vintage Cameo Dienamic frame with one of my favorite Clearly Sentimental sets, the one about Family. I thought it would make the prettiest little frame and really ground the sentiment.

I used one of the Layered Label Dienamics for my sentiment and stitched the buttons right on top. A little twill bow doesn't hurt anything, now does it? Of course, you can use this Dienamic with the coordinating stamp set, but it's also a great layering piece.

MFTeasers: Pure Innocence

It's Pure Innocence day! These characters have a way of working their way into our stampy hearts. Lucky for us, there's a new PI family member, Holiday Hugs Snowman.

He is stamped on xpress cardstock and required minimal coloring. I paper pieced his scarf and hat. You'll also notice the lovely new Clearly Sentimental Label Dienamic. It's big and fabulous! I love that I can anchor it below my image and still use it for sentiment placement!

I also have a darling new Pure Innocence, Snowboard Boy. His out fit is paper pieced while everything else was colored with Copics. I used the *new* Wonky Scallop Dienamic with white felt as snow. I added some speedy air with a Copic Multiliner pin--he's goin' fast!

It's a la mode day! Have you been waiting for this day? You won't be disappointed!

Today, I've Disco Queen to share today--and boy is she groovy.

I stamped the image on Xpress cardstock and colored with Copics. I used the Notched Tag Dienamic for the sentiment. Using scor tape, I added glitter on my tag and on three strips in the background.

MFTeasers: Christmas Ornaments

We have a super cute new set to share with you today. I am in *love* with the coordinating Dienamics that are in the Christmas Ornament set. This also presented a good opportunity to use the new Crown Border Dienamic with some grey felt.

I used the ornament dienamics with red cardstock and added some dimension with white paint and a skinny paint brush. The starburst and sentiment are also part of the stamp set.

I also wanted to make a little Christmas decoration for my mantle. I usually have a banner hanging, so I didn't need it to say anything. I wanted a little "deck the halls" look with a bunch of ornaments.

I used grey felt and a bunch of ornaments. I used some glitter and crystal effects on the edge each of the ornaments. I stitched them all to the background paper and attached them to wooden blocks. I thought about painting the wooden blocks, but my mantle is white and I thought it would blend too much. This will be a more rustic look. I tied a big bow on the biggest block and added a little jingle bell charm.

Today's teasers are super exciting. I've been waiting for a larger font Christmas set that is super versatile. I also think the font is totally fabulous!

I used a number of fabulous Dienamics, two of which are *new* this month! The Loopy Bloom Dienamic and the Wonky Scallop Border Dienamic {both cut with grey felt} are fabulous. I also used the Well Worn Greethings Dienamics and the Leafy Flourish Dienamic. The patterned paper is from Authentique.

Compliments to the Chef

Good morning! Not too long ago, someone asked me to make a thank you note for someone who is catering a large event. I love the "Compliments to the Chef" sentiment from the Bon Appetit set--it's perfect!

I used the Dog Tag Dienamic for the "Thank You" sentiment. It was too small for a tab dienamic, so this worked perfectly!

Have you seen the Miscellany products that coordinate with the October Afternoon pads? I bought a pack just to check it out and those elements came in perfectly for this *crazy* sketch!

Warm Winter Wishes

Welcome to October's New Product Tour. We have a darling *new* round WTG for you this month! With the weather getting so much cooler, I just had to use this sentiment. :)

I used some soft Lily Bee papers and paper pieced all of the image. I put a little white lacquer in the hot chocolate. YUM. The other day I woke up and had a major craving for hot chocolate. :) I tied it off with a black saddle stitch bow.

Two Thank Yous

Good Monday morning to you. I have two little thank you cards that have just a little fall feeling to them. We're supposed to get our first freeze later this week, so I can't deny winter is on the way.

I used a couple of different sets here. Textile Rectangle Stamp set and Dienamics create the background. The Thanks a Bunch set works wonderfully with the new Oval Tab Dienamic for the focal point. I usually use non matchy buttons, but these two were working for me. As per usual, I sewed them to the card to reinforce them.

I had some scraps left over and made another sample. This uses this week's Wednesday Stamp Club sketch. I didn't have time to get to it until this weekend. I used the Sweet Stack Dienamic set and the sentiment from the Polka Dot Greetings set.

Just a Note

Hi there. I have a card today that I made using a la modes You are Unrepeatable. Admittedly, I made this card a little after this image came out and it's just now making an appearance on the blog. It doesn't happen like this too terribly often, but I guess it does every once in a while.

I used my beloved Notched Tag Dienamic for my sentiment. I watercolored her on watercolor paper. Did you notice--no stitching!?! I layered a number of different My Minds Eye scraps with a piece of grey felt cut with a Simply Scallops Dienamic.

Home Again

I've gotten in the habit of taking a few days off after a big MFT release. This month, though, I went on a little road trip to the great state of Texas. We're back home and enjoyed seeing a number of family and friends.

I have a little beachy scene for you today. I am especially fond of these trees. You see, a few years ago, I was married on a gorgeous shore much like this one. The ceremony was on the south shore of Kauai, Hawaii. Sigh. I'm dreaming of the breeze and rolling waves now.

I stamped the image from Inspired By the Beach on watercolor paper and colored it with Twinkling H2Os. I used some black felt and the Solid Bracket Border Dienamic under the sentiment. This card is just masculine enough to give hubby at some point.

Hopefully I'll get settled back and get back to regular posting! Thanks for bearing with me. :) ~megan

I used Ballet Millie and the Happy Thoughts sentiment set. Some of the gorgeous new My Mind's Eye paper was calling my name. I love how the circle in the sketch is so high and to the left. Ha, you know what I mean! I colored her with Copics and tied her up with a little twill ribbon.

MFT New Product Tour

Welcome to this month's New Product Tour. The new website is up and so are the new release!

I've got two cards tonight using the new Inspired By Autumn set. The images in this set are just perfect for the change of seasons. We're still enjoying some "open window" time at home. I love letting the breeze cool off our home. It made perfect sense to use this sentiment from the set.

I inked up my pumpkin with orange and green and stamped the sentiment in brown. I used some brown felt with the Postage Border Dienamic along the edge. I nestled a couple of buttons on top of some corrugated buttons cut with the Button Quartet Dienamic. They frame them nicely.

I thought the other quote in the set could stand on it's own. I used the new Oval Decorative Doily as the base for my sentiment. Using the leaves from the Leaf Trio Dienamic, I cut a number of leaves out. I stitched them all in a line, once in orange, and once in green.

I "fluffed" the leaves once I they were stitched. Here's a close up:

For this month's Dienamic Feature, I wanted to highlight the *new* Contempo Cage Dienamic and Stamp set. While I was creating this card and playing around with the new die, I discovered that it fits perfectly on the Tag You're It Dienamic. The hole at the top of the cage lines up with the hole in the tag and voila!

I used some of the new My Mind's Eye papers, some corrugated cardboard for the bird, and the tied it all up with a thin twill bow.

MFTeasesrs: Pure Innocence

It's the last MFT teaser day! Tomorrow we'll have a little Dienamics Feature and then it's release day! Woohoo. I have three samples for you today. Truth be told, I didn't realize I had made three samples until I uploaded them. I guess I was having too much fun in the stamp room. :)

We have a new character on the block--Precious Little Lamb. This one's name is Where Flowers Bloom. He's just perfect for a sweet little baby card, so I went with some soft colors. I jumped on the coorugated cardboard boat and used my Perfect Posie Dienamic {possibly my favorite flower Dienamic--if you made me choose!!} with big button centers. I tied it off with a big black bow and added a couple of more buttons--which begs the question--can you use too many buttons?

Next up is Girl and Baby. I think this would be so sweet to give to a *new* older sibling. I used the new Oval Tab Dienamic and the Die-namics Simply Scallops. I curved the sentiment {thank you clear polymer for not being rigid} to fit the Oval Tab. sweet. I didn't use ribbon, so I tied a big twine bow.

And lastly, I have Have Hope Pure Innocence. She's part of our Breast Cancer Awareness release and she's just so sweet. I used the Ticket Tab Dienamic for the sentiment and added a wee little heart from the Notched Tag Dienamic set.

This was a perfect opportunity to use the *new* Oval Tab Dienamic. This is the next edition in the tab line up--and it's sure to be your answer to your sentiment problems. :) All the tabs provide such sweet homes for the sentiments.

I used the lovely My Minds Eye Halloween patterned paper and tied it off with a big twill bow. I stitched the tab to the main panel and anchored it with a couple of buttons.
